The third video is not called Trailer 3
Rockstar's third official Grand Theft Auto VI video has no number on it. The title is "Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look", and that is the name on the Newswire post, on the GTA VI site and on the YouTube upload [2][3][11]. Rockstar announced it on 6 August 2026, promising a Netflix premiere on Thursday 27 August at 3 p.m. ET, then a free release on the Rockstar Games YouTube channel and the GTA VI site at 9 p.m. ET the same day [2][3].
Netflix describes the programme as in-game footage recorded on PS5, a capture platform also identified on Rockstar's video page.[32][6] The free upload runs 26:48, which is why you will see both "26 minutes" and "27 minutes" quoted [29][36].
What the video actually shows
It opens mid-job. Jason and Lucia head into an apartment building to collect product, the pickup goes wrong, police storm the building, and a routine errand becomes a cover-based firefight [15][18]. VGC's blow-by-blow notes that the pair then leave the apartment, and that the first proper look at in-game driving and city events follows [18].
From there the footage moves between ordinary life and crime: Jason taking food from the fridge, the couple getting ready to go out, a drive through visibly busier streets [15][18]. Engadget's breakdown records Lucia reloading a shotgun one-handed, a bank job gone wrong, a chase in which Jason fires an automatic rifle from the back seat, and a closing set piece at a corporate gala where combat is interrupted by a bullet-time mode [15]. The presentation ends by restating the release date: 19 November 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S [1][3].
The world it showed
Rockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson supplied the scale figures that circulated with the video: a map roughly twice the size of GTA V and about three times the size of Red Dead Redemption 2, with Vice City itself around twice the size of Los Santos [16]. The Hindu reports that Rob Nelson also told visiting creators the game contains more than 600,000 animations, against roughly 55,000 in GTA V and 300,000 in Red Dead Redemption 2 [16].
Density is the visible half of that. Push Square noted crowds thick enough that Jason has to weave through a packed nightclub, while VGC flagged a fan boat across the Everglades, kayaks on open water and a parachute jump that showed off draw distance [14][18].
The numbers
Netflix said the extended look topped its English-language film list with 31.1 million views and finished No. 1 in 87 of the 93 countries it tracks, across a window that did not begin until 27 August [32]. Variety reported the same 31.1 million figure for the four days to 30 August [33]. One caution when reading those figures alongside YouTube totals: Netflix derives its view figure from hours watched and programme runtime. Its total should not be treated as a directly comparable YouTube counter.[32]
Where to watch it
The official upload is free. "Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look" is on the Rockstar Games YouTube channel at youtube.com/watch?v=tJbzMqJGH4k, and the same video sits on the GTA VI site at rockstargames.com/VI [3][11]. Metro notes the absence of voiceover or narration: the action carries the presentation rather than a spoken tour of features.[35]
