The short answer
There is no GTA 6 Trailer 3. Rockstar's official videos are Trailer 1, Trailer 2 and "An Extended Look", and nothing has ever been published under the Trailer 3 name [27][24]. What follows separates the rumour from the record.
Claim: a third trailer was coming in May or early June 2026
Unverified. Community posts predicted a third trailer in that window, and no video was announced [24]. A community prediction centred on June 25. The pre-order announcement was a separate marketing event, not evidence that Rockstar had scheduled a trailer for that day.[25]
Claim: Tom Henderson had a date
Partly true, and he said so himself. TweakTown reported that Henderson expected a third trailer around 6 August, timed to Take-Two's earnings call, while making clear he had no firm evidence - it was pattern-reading, not a leak [22]. INSERT FUTURE paired that prediction with NateTheHate's broader expectation of substantial material in August.[23] Take-Two did report earnings on 7 August, and Rockstar did announce something on 6 August - but not a trailer [23][2].
What Rockstar published instead
On 6 August 2026 Rockstar announced "Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look", which premiered on Netflix on 27 August and then went free on YouTube and the GTA VI site at 9 p.m. ET the same day [2][3]. Vice Atlas puts it plainly: in effect, the Extended Look was Trailer 3, as the third official video, without ever carrying the name [21].
What Rockstar's channels currently list
Rockstar's own GTA VI page still runs the Collector's Box posting of 24 September 2026 above the album announcement and the Extended Look [1]. A hand-kept index of the Newswire's GTA VI tag, last checked on 30 September 2026, lists ten posts, with the Collector's Box newest [26]. Rockstar's media page lists three videos - Trailer 1, Trailer 2 and An Extended Look - plus nine short clips [27].
Will there be one more before launch?
Nobody knows, and Vice Atlas is honest about the confidence level. As of 4 October 2026 Rockstar had released two trailers plus the extended look and had announced nothing further [21]. Vice Atlas stakes 75% on one more trailer by 19 November, most likely near the 12 November pre-load, on the precedent of Red Dead Redemption 2's launch trailer landing eight days before release [21]. That is an inference, and it is labelled as one.
The fake-trailer problem
Anticipation built a market for fakes. AI-generated "leaked footage", recut Trailer 2 shots with fresh title cards and countdown streams for a premiere that was never scheduled have all circulated during 2026, and reports describe copyright takedowns by the publisher. A takedown alone does not authenticate the clip or tell viewers what Rockstar will release next.[23][24]
How to tell a real trailer from a fake
Check the claimed premiere against Rockstar's Newswire and verified YouTube channel. An upload elsewhere is not proof of a new official trailer; it may be a re-upload, fan edit or generated clip.[24] The three genuine videos, all currently free, are:
- Trailer 1 - youtube.com/watch?v=QdBZY2fkU-0[9]
- Trailer 2 - youtube.com/watch?v=VQRLujxTm3c[10]
- Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look - youtube.com/watch?v=tJbzMqJGH4k[11]
All three also sit on the official GTA VI site [1][27].
