Confirmed: PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and nothing else
Grand Theft Auto VI ships on two platform families, and both are current generation. Rockstar lists pre-orders for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in its customer support material.[1] Microsoft's store page confirms the Xbox side, listing Xbox Series X|S as the platform and November 19, 2026 as the release date.[2] Sony lists a PS5 version with a PS5 Pro Enhanced badge. That badge identifies support for the newer hardware; it is not a promise of a particular frame rate.[3]
That list has not changed through two release-date delays. There is no PS4 version, no Xbox One version and no Nintendo console version announced. Anyone selling you a previous-generation pre-order is selling you a mistake.[1][2][3]
PC: no announcement, and no window either
There is no PC version of Grand Theft Auto VI on sale, and Rockstar has not said when there will be one. IGN checked the updated November 19 website and found only the console platforms. Asked previously about PC, Take-Two chief executive Strauss Zelnick left room for a future announcement without confirming a port or a timetable.[4]
Zelnick's answer should not be read as confirmation that a PC version exists. PC Gamer forecasts a release no earlier than the second half of 2027, while acknowledging that Rockstar has supplied no estimate. That is the outlet's expectation, not a publisher deadline.[5]
The pattern behind the expectation
The expectation of a later PC release is inference from Rockstar's own release history, not an announcement. Grand Theft Auto V reached consoles in September 2013 and PC in April 2015; Red Dead Redemption 2 reached consoles in October 2018 and PC in November 2019.[5] Reporting on Take-Two's comments also records that the company denied a platform marketing arrangement is what holds the PC version back, while confirming that no PC-specific system requirements have been teased at all.[6]
That pattern is a reasonable basis for planning and a poor basis for quoting a date. The previous games establish a console-first pattern, but they do not establish the development status of this port.[5][6]
What to treat as speculation
Any specific PC release date circulating now - 2027, 2028 or later - is a forecast, not a fact. GameLuster likewise reports no confirmed release window,[6] and there is no PC store listing, no system requirements, no pre-load date and no PC edition to pre-order. The honest position for a PC player is that the console launch is confirmed, the PC launch is not, and the only event that changes that is a direct statement from Rockstar or Take-Two.[4][5][6]
For console buyers the picture is settled: PS5 or Xbox Series X|S, November 19, 2026, with a pre-load window from November 12.[1][2][3]
