Vice City's return in GTA VI is a return to the place, not to the 1980s. Rockstar presents a contemporary city shaped by tourism, commerce and the pursuit of money, with several named neighbourhoods rather than a recreation of the 2002 game's period setting.[1][7]

The location material is most useful when read alongside the edition listings and official screenshots. Each supplies a different kind of detail: districts, named businesses or scenery. None by itself gives readers a complete street plan for the November 19 launch.[1][2][6]

Four names to start with

Rockstar identifies Ocean Beach through its art deco hotels and beachfront, and Little Cuba through its bakeries. The Tisha-Wocka flea market sells imitation brands, while VC Port is associated with cruise tourism. These names come directly from the studio's location page, not a community reconstruction.[1]

That is already a more specific introduction than a generic promise of a larger Vice City. The four areas suggest different kinds of movement and commerce: visitors arriving by sea, beach holidays, neighbourhood shopping and a market selling cheaper versions of status goods. That reading describes the city's themes, rather than predicting which missions will happen there.

IGN's screenshot guide adds visible landmarks, including a large Ferris wheel, the Narcos basketball arena and a cruise ship in the distance. Those observations help readers recognise scenes; they do not establish the boundaries of the districts around them.[7]

Places mentioned outside the location guide

The Ultimate Edition material supplies further names. The Squalo is associated with Washington Beach and Gambit Bay; Paradise Garage is in Watson Bay. Other listings mention Stockyard, Lake Leonida and a gang compound in Southside Vice City.[2][6]

These are useful additions to the inventory, but a name in a vehicle or shop description is not necessarily a formally defined district. Until Rockstar supplies a fuller layout, it is safer to distinguish named places from claims about neighbourhood borders or the routes connecting them.[2][6]

Scale claims and the real-world campaign

Kotaku reported preview figures relayed by YouTuber TGG after a visit to Rockstar North: a game map around twice GTA V's size, and a Vice City around twice the size of Los Santos. The provenance matters. These are reported comments from a preview, not a measured district map.[3]

Meanwhile, the real Miami Beach approved a GTA VI marketing agreement on September 10, 2026 by a 4–3 vote. IGN reports restrictions on branding in iconic public spaces and city property, with part of the proceeds expected to support renovation of the Flamingo Park Memorial Football Field.[4]

That campaign makes the relationship between Miami and Vice City visible outside the game. Inside it, the strongest guide remains the named locations and recognisable landmarks Rockstar has actually shown, rather than the confident outlines drawn on fan maps.[1][6][7]
